Served in Egypt 21 May 1918 - 17 November 1919.
Awarded British War Medal and Victory Medal.
Transferred to R.A.F. Reserve 25 December 1919.

- enlisted in the Royal Flying Corps 1 February 1918.
Transferred to the Royal Air Force 1 April 1918.Trade - Moulder.
Served in Egypt from 4 May 1918 then transferred to No. 47 Squadron of the South Russian Expeditinary Force
5 June 1919 to 16 March 1920.
Awarded British War Medal and Victory Medal.
Transferred to R.A.F. Reserve 4 February 1920.

- enlisted in the Army 17 September 1912.
Served in Malta 5 September 1914 - 5 January 1915.
To France 6 January 1915. Suffered gunshot wound to the eye 27 January 15 followed by shell wounds to the legs.
Transferred to the RFC 20 January 1918 as a batman and to RAF on 1 April 1918.
Re-mustered to Fitter (aircraft) 23 April 1918.

Killed at Alamein 6th July 1943.
Commemorated on the Alamein memorial.
Son of William and Beatrice Rushen, husband of Joan Mary Rushin of Anstey, Leicestershire.




L0682157 Chief Technician Peter James Rushen (1956 - 1984)

Peter served his apprenticeship at Royal Air Force Halton No.1 School of Technical Training as a member of the 84th Entry from 1956 to 1959. His first posting following training was to No.231 Operational Conversion Unit at Royal Air Force Bassingbourn. Boxing Day 1961 saw him heading for RAF Innsworth, a temporary stay before boarding HMT Nevassa bound for Singapore. Following service with No. 34 Squadron operating Blackburn Beverleys at RAF Seletar he was posted to No. 36 Squadron operating Handley Page Hastings at RAF Colerne. On disbandment of the Squadron a move was made to RAF Fairford where two squadrons of C-130 Hercules were being formed. Further postings over the years sent him to RAF Stations at Brize Norton, Coltishall, Sharjah and Abingdon with another lucky posting to RAF Tengah in Singapore. His final posting was to RAF Coningsby and The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
